This is an aerial view. I think landscape paintings can translate very well as aerial – see John Olson and Fred Williams, especially Lake Eyre.

To me this, a sinister painting in the series, can be seen both as an aerial view and side on view.

Monsters can be maligned. Many are friendly.

Being asked who your favourite child is ought to be answered diplomatically. Nevertheless, I can say this is one of the favourite series of my, despite the future expense of having three daughters. At my wedding reception I was on crutches with my leg in plaster and my (then) wife heavily pregnant. The bridal waltz and other traditional activities were put on hold.

I love train travel. I usually carry a book with me when I travel, but on a train I watch the world go by.
