Outback
We pass through Orroroo
At night
Jordie and I
Keeping the horses quiet
Three more hard days of ridin
If there ain’t no trubel
We make camp at the Elder Range
Rest up the nags, hit the hay
And arise with the sun
Another day ahead
Jordie , seven an a half, give or take
Sees Wilpena Pound
And Cries
I tell er to shut er gob an man up
But she don’t
So’s I put both saddles on me back and we climb
Starin inta the sun
One eye for the injuns the other for bandits
All the while leading the horses
Tall, dark, and good lookin
As we chew tobacco and ponda
So we pitch the tent
Overlooking the ranges
and the salt lakes afar
And I am so happy that Jordie loves it.*
*yeah, yeah maybe there was a car but dem hosses were in me head
