| Mid morning on a Sunday I wandered into the Oxford Circus tube station. At the same time soccer fans from Sunderland arrived . They had spent the night at Trafalgar Square. I think alcohol had been involved. They were on their way to Wembley for the League Cup Final. There were hundreds and hundreds. They made a ruckus . They were aggressive. Everyone was scared , except me. I was defiant. I was brave. I went down the never ending escalator with them. Nothing bad happened. I think I was more scared in the usual weekday subway rush ! |
